Bailey MacDiarmid (nee Cockerill)

BSc (HMS & Physiology) WITS; BSc (Med)(Hon) Biokinetics UCT; BASI (MWTT) Pilates

Qualified in 2008 from UCT after an undergraduate at Wits University, Bailey started her biokinetics career at the Centre for Daibetes and Endocrinology (Houghton, JHB) working mainly in the chronic disease sector. However, having always been very involved in many sporting activities, the pull towards more orthopaedic based rehab beckoned.

In 2011, she set up her ortho based practice within the Endurance Sport & Wellness Centre, where she gained a further 6 years’ experience.

In 2017, she was able to fulfil a career goal and established a multidisciplinary wellness centre in JHB called Health on Hillcrest, which continues to grow at this present time. This opened the door to being involved with the wonderful Fit 4 Two program where the founders, Gill & Kayla have decided to base their headquarters from.

Bailey has been very fortunate to have learnt an immense amount about the pre- and post-natal population from these highly skilled and passionate Bio’s and has thoroughly enjoyed further expanding her skill set to include working with this specific population – the timing of which has been somewhat fortuitous , considering she is currently starting her journey into motherhood too!

When not doing the above, she is also involved with the “Embark Training” triathlon club having enjoyed a few tri’s herself, a hobby that was sparked in an attempt to better understand her endurance sport fanatic husband, Jack, who loves nothing more than spending most hours of the day testing the limits of the human body and it’s incredible capacity.

I enjoyed joining Fit 4 Two as it is such a friendly environment where excited mommies-to-be can exercise in the safe hands of qualified Biokineticists while also meeting others sharing experiences of pregnancy💗
